Dora Aguilera

Dora has worked at TCU Campus Recreation since June 2005. Her involvement with the Veterans Services Task Force began with volunteering at the Veteran’s Day luncheon and the Wall of Honor. Her involvement with the Task Force has evolved to year-round volunteering at various events, coordinating and maintaining the Wall of Honor, organizing card to send troops overseas, and serving as a point of contact for veteran students at TCU Campus Recreation. Her father served in the US Army.

Rev. Todd Boling is Associate Chaplain to TCU in the Office of Religious & Spiritual Life.  In addition to offering pastoral & spiritual care, Todd also oversees the Student Religious Organizations at TCU, promotes spiritual wellness, and supports various communities on campus such as our student veterans.  Todd is also a passionate supporter of interfaith work, and has worked with the TCU Interfaith Initiative during his tenure at TCU.  You can find Todd in the Office of Religious & Spiritual Life on the first floor of Jarvis Hall.


April Brown

April was appointed as the Director of TCU Veterans Services in June 2016 and has served as the Chair of the Veterans Services Task force since 2009.  As the former Director of Inclusiveness and Intercultural Services, her passion is to support inclusive spaces and she knows that veterans strengthen the TCU campus through their diverse experiences. April was born in Wiesbaden, Germany into a military family.  Her dad is an Air Force Veteran, her spouse is a Marine and her daughter served in the Army National Guard.  She is a Marine Veteran and served during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.  She received a B.S. of Business from Indiana University and earned an M. ED. from East Carolina University.  Her volunteer work includes supporting women veterans and military spouses transition into careers, homeless veterans, and youth interested in attending college.


Ashley Edwards

Ashley has been an academic advisor for the Center of Academic Services since June 2010. She graduated with a B.S in Family and Consumer Sciences – Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics concentration and a minor in Psychology in May 2008 from Illinois State University. Following this degree, she started her Master’s degree in College Student Personnel Administration at Illinois State University and finished in May 2010. While in graduate school, Ashley was an advisor for the School of Social Work and had two internships. One was with the TRiO/Student Support Services program at Illinois State and the other was with the Division of Student Affairs at the American University of Kuwait. Besides advising and working on the Veterans Services Task Force, Ashley is involved in various campus committees including Staff Assembly, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and CRES (Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies). Originally from Long Beach, California Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband, a fellow Horned Frog and Army veteran, and their two dogs. She also likes to read, travel, play fantasy football, and watch new things on Netflix.


Matt Johnson

Dr. Johnson is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Sport Psychology Consultant in the TCU Counseling and Mental Health Center.  He provides individual counseling for TCU students on a variety of areas including stress, anxiety, ADHD, relationships, life transitions, and depression, and works with veterans on transitions into civilian and academic life.  Dr. Johnson runs for Meditation for Stress, Anxiety, and Sleep groups per semester, in addition to being a mental training consultant for TCU athletic teams and student-athletes.  Dr. Johnson was a former assistant professor of sport and exercise psychology in the TCU Kinesiology Department.

Maleta Hill joined the TCU family in early 2012. Though a native of Texas, Maleta attended Belhaven College in Mississippi and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1993. Maleta is no stranger to the military life, her father being a retired Colonel in the Army reserve. After relocating to Pennsylvania, she became a house parent at Milton Hershey School. The boarding school, founded by the multibillion-dollar confectioner, Milton S. Hershey, provides a cost-free, private, coeducational home and school for children from families of low income, limited resources, and social need. During her ten years with the school, Maleta worked with a multitude of students and became a mentor to over 107 students. Besides currently serving as the administrative program specialist for Cultural, Community & International Services, her passion for young people and the community is seen through her volunteer work with different local and national agencies.


   Shawn Keane

Shawn was raised in beautiful San Diego, CA. with no military background, other than watching the Marines jog on the beach.  In 1987 she married her husband, Bradley S. Keane. He was stationed at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ when they met.  Bradley served in the Army (101st Airborne) from 1967-1970 and did a tour in Vietnam. He also served in the US Air Force from 1981-2007 and retired at the rank of Lt. Col. His last tour was at TCU as the Commander of AFROTC. Through her husband, she has lived a military life. Shawn and Bradley have 3 wonderful children.  “I love being a military spouse, and I am grateful to have been a part of the military family for so many years. I joined the Task force in 2009 because I wanted to help student veterans assimilate back into academic/civilian life.”


Dr. Miguel Leatham

Dr. Miguel Leatham is an instructor in the TCU Anthropology Program and the program’s director since 2005.  He specializes in the study of religion and religious movements, modern Latin American cultures, and Mexican-American studies, but also teaches courses on human evolution and the archaeology of Mexico and Peru.  Additionally, Dr. Leatham is a lifelong student of the life and music of J. S. Bach, and an avid researcher of the heritage of the United States Air Force.  Currently, he is conducting research for a biography of Major Horace S. Carswell, Jr., U.S. Army Air Forces, a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient and TCU Alumnus.  Leatham is vice-president for Air Force ROTC for the Air Force Association’s Fort Worth Chapter.


Dr. Cheryl Taylor

Dr. Cheryl Taylor is currently serving as the Affirmative Action/EEO statistical analyst. She is a TCU alum receiving her Master’s and Ph.D. in Social Psychology and is a proud member of the Horned Frog family. Cheryl’s father served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and her son, Patrick, is currently serving in the Air Force at Langley AFB in Hampton, VA. Cheryl was also a military spouse for 20 years, spending time in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Oklahoma.  Dr. Cheryl Taylor has been serving on the Veterans Services Task Force since October 2012.


Jeff Waite

Jeff Waite is the Director of Marketing and Communications at the Neeley School of Business.  An Air Force veteran of 10 years, Jeff arrived at TCU in 2005.  His active mentorship of undergraduate and graduate students to include veterans led to his recognition as the 20th recipient of the Wassenich Award for Mentoring in the TCU Community.  Jeff graduated with a BBA in Management with a Marketing minor from McKendree University.
